Ellon detachment is a big detachment with lots of character's, but who are they?
The cadet N.C.O's of the platoon are pretty well known throughout the company for their different achievements and their example they set to other cadets. A phrase I know they live by is "Lead by example" and in my opinion they do quite well!

  L/cpl's
At the moment our junior ranks are: L/cpl Panting who transferred to the detachment from Strichen well over a year ago now and seems to have settled in quite well. He has his 2 star and attended his JCIC in January of this year and is currently progressing through his 3 star. L/cpl Youngson, one of our newest promotions but she has taken to the role very well. She has achieved her one star and hopes to be a 2 star in the very near future. The new L/Cpls (our camp promotions) are 17 year old L/cpl Harrison who has been in the detachment less than a year and has already proved himself to be an asset and L/Cpl Sarah Thorpe, the girliest and one of our best cadets!!!!!L/Cpl Cameron Dey who excelled himself at camp by achieving the best cadet in his section and gaining a promotion with this a perfect example of how we do produce the best cadets ;-)

Cpl's We currently have only have 1 corporal in the platoon at the moment. Cpl Gordon is a two star who has been in cadets for almost three years. She is a very capable individual who is currently 'sailing' through her three star training. She attended her JCIC at the end of last year and as a result has proved to be an asset as an instructor.

Senior Cadets Sgt Reid is our only sergeant and holds his three star. He joined the platoon over four years and has attended his fifth annual camp and is progressing towards his four star. C/Sgt Raeper came to the detachment from Strichen almost two years ago, he has his Bronze Duke of Edinburgh  his Silver. In the summer of the 2002 he completed his CLC course at Frimley Park and returned with a glowing report. He has had his four star for over a year and hopes to attend his master cadet in the near future. He is alsoone of the very select few to have earned himself an army scholarship. CSM Parslow joined cadets in 1999 and survived her fifth annual camp. In 2001 she participated in a Canadian Exchange, she has her Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh's award and is currently progressing toward her Gold. In October of last year she attended her Master cadet in Frimley Park and has just completed her appointment as the Lord's Lieutenants cadet for Aberdeenshire and through this role attended a Royal garden party at Holyrood in July, had to 'meet and greet' the queen at Balmoral and meet Princess Anne for the opening of Finzean Hall among other duties!
